Mass Cultural Council

Boston Singer's Resource is sponsored in part by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

"Boston Singers' Resource (BSR) is a website organization for the New England Community, but it is also so much more. It is a commitment to a community of individuals and a passionate intention to nurture them and promote their singing careers." Marney Makridakis, Classical Singer Magazine

History and Mission:
Established eight years ago as one of the most important networking tools for New England musicians, Boston Singers' Resource is a fully incorporated 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Its purpose is to strengthen and enhance the New England classical singing community by providing educational, promotional and networking resources to New England classical singers, to those interested in singing and to the general public. BSR currently provides this artistic support through its extensive website (www.BostonSingersResource.org) and its biweekly email news bulletins, both of which include numerous articles about musicians, performance techniques and vocal health, listings of upcoming performances, hundreds of links and music contacts, audition notices, and singing information for children and youth. BSR also hosts three(3) singing auditions for regional talent each year as well as several director/producer networking sessions.

Services:
Although the website, www.BostonSingersResource.org, contains information available to the general public, a few pages are for 'subscribers only.' A Boston Singers' Resource subscription is open to anyone for an annual fee of $35/year and includes unlimited access to the BSR website, a listing in the BSR directory, a one year subscription to the news bulletin, a free Products and Services listing, and eligibility for the Annual Auditions. Current BSR subscribers from all six New England states include classical solo singers, chorus singers, accompanists, coaches, music directors, artistic directors, composers, special event planners, managers, and student musicians of all levels.

"We found singers for all parts and even an accompanist!"
David Walther, Director and Composer

"I wanted to let you know how excited I am about this opportunity that your organization has provided for local singers. I have heard nothing but wonderful things from singers and teachers. Congratulations on a resource that is making the singer circuit and doing extraordinarily well in the continual retelling!"
Noelle Nordstrom, Soprano

"In my search for singer/musicians for our corporate event, I came across the website listed below. I sent an email to them and I must have gotten dozens of responses right away. The director, Lynn Shane, was also very helpful in giving advice on how to choose the right performer. The singer who came was very good."
Terry Weber, Wholefoods manager

"BSR distinguishes itself by its unique spirit of supportiveness and mutual understanding for and among the individual members. It makes this singers' consortium very precious..."
Petra Pacaric, Mezzo-Soprano
